A practical guide to Yukon Solitaire
Bring your attention to one round of Yukon Solitaire. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.
One deck, no stock, Yukon deal. Free solo play, no wagering.
Something to practise
Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Refer to the controls when needed.
What you need to achieve
Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. The example below illustrates a decision.
The order of play
- Build down in alternating colours. Any face-up card carries all cards below it, even when unordered. Kings fill empty columns.
- Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
- Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
- Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.
Your inputs
Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Use the control method described here for this activity. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.
Try this example
A red 6 carrying an unordered tail can move onto a black 7. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Check the stated objective.
A mistake to avoid
Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
